How to Enable Two-Factor Authentication for Salesforce

Securing your Salesforce account with Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an essential layer of protection. Here’s how you can set it up with the Authenticator App.

Download and Install Authenticator App

For iOS: Visit the App Store and search for "Authenticator App" Download and install the app.

For Android: Head to the Google Play Store, search for "Authenticator App" and install it.

Access security Settings

Log in to your Salesforce account. Click on your profile icon in the top-right corner, then select Settings.

Navigate to 2FA Settings

In the Settings menu, go to Advanced User Details. Find One-Time Password Authenticator and click Continue.

You’ll receive an email verification code from Salesforce. Enter it to confirm your identity.

A QR code will appear. Keep the page open as you prepare your Authenticator App.

Scan the QR code

Scan the QR code

Open the Authenticator App and tap the plus (+) button. Scan the QR code displayed on Salesforce’s webpage.

Save the Account

Save the Account

After scanning, the Authenticator App will autofill your Salesforce account details. Tap Save to confirm.

STEP 08

Enter the Verification Code

Enter the Verification Code

Back in Salesforce, enter the 6-digit code from the Authenticator App. Click Connect to complete the setup
