How to Enable Two-Factor Authentication for MongoDB
To enhance the security of your MongoDB account, enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is a must. This guide will walk you through the process of setting up 2FA using the Authenticator App.

STEP 01
Download and Install Authenticator App
For iOS: Visit the App Store and search for "Authenticator App" Download and install the app.
For Android: Head to the Google Play Store, search for "Authenticator App" and install it.

STEP 02
Log in to your MongoDB account
Log in to your MongoDB account.

Locate 2FA settings
Click your username in the top-right corner, select Manage your MongoDB account, or click on the "MFA is now available for your account" notification.
Go to the Security tab from the side menu.

Enable 2FA
Select Authenticator app Set Up. You will be prompted to verify your password.
Enter your account password and continue.

STEP 05
Set up two-factor authentication
A QR code will appear. Open the authenticator app and tap on the plus (+) button.
Scan the QR code with the authenticator app.

STEP 06
Verify the 2FA code
Add the 6-digit code in the MongoDB account, which is generated in the authenticator app.

Once this code has been scanned, enter the 6-digit code generated by the app.

You are all set
The two-factor authentication is completed for your account.
