To enhance the security of your GitHub account, enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is a must. This guide will walk you through the process of setting up 2FA using the Authenticator App.
Step By Step Guide

STEP 01
For iOS: Visit the App Store and search for "Authenticator App" Download and install the app.
For Android: Head to the Google Play Store, search for "Authenticator App" and install it.

Go to github.com
and sign in using your username or email address.

n the upper-right corner of the screen, click your profile photo, then click "Settings."

In the "Access" section of the sidebar, click "Password and authentication."

Under "Two-factor authentication," click "Enable two-factor authentication." Two-factor authentication adds an additional layer of security.

Use your authenticator app to scan the QR code displayed. After scanning, the app will generate a six-digit code to enter on GitHub. If you can't scan the QR code, click "Enter this Text Code" to input the code manually in your authenticator app.

click "Download" to save your recovery codes to a secure location. These codes help you regain access to your account if needed.

After saving your recovery codes, click "I have saved my recovery codes" to enable 2FA for your account.

After enabling 2FA, sign out and back into your account. In case of issues like a forgotten password, use your recovery codes for access.
