How to Enable Two-Factor Authentication for Bittrex

To enhance the security of your Bittrex account, enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is a must. This guide will walk you through the process of setting up 2FA using the Authenticator App.

STEP 01

Download and Install Authenticator App

For iOS: Visit the App Store and search for "Authenticator App" Download and install the app.

For Android: Head to the Google Play Store, search for "Authenticator App" and install it.

STEP 02

Log in to your Bittrex account

Log in to your Bittrex account.

STEP 03

Locate 2FA settings

Login to your Bittrex account and click on "My Account" in the top right corner.

QR Code

On the next page, click on the button that reads "Two-Factor Authentication." A window for you to scan the QR code with the Authenticator App will appear. Open the Authenticator App. At the bottom of the screen, tap the plus (+) button and hold your device up to the computer screen.

STEP 05

Save Account

After successfully scanning the QR code, the Authenticator App will automatically choose the Bittrex logo and autofill the account name and secret key. Confirm that it is correct by clicking "Save."

STEP 06

Copy & Verify Your Code

Copy the numerical code from the Authenticator App and confirm it on the Bittrex website, then click "Enable 2FA." Note that this code refreshes every 30 seconds.

STEP 07

Verify Your Email

Go to your email account linked to Bittrex and follow the instructions.

STEP 08

Confirm Enabling Two-Factor Authentication

Open the Authenticator App and copy the current code. After that, return to the Bittrex website, paste the code, and press "Save Two-Factor Authentication."

STEP 09

You're All Set!

You have successfully set up Two-Factor Authentication for your Bittrex account. From now on, you will need to use the Authenticator App when you log in.
