How to Enable Two-Factor Authentication for Avg
To enhance the security of your Avg account, enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is a must. This guide will walk you through the process of setting up 2FA using the Authenticator App.

STEP 01
Download and Install Authenticator App
For iOS: Visit the App Store and search for "Authenticator App" Download and install the app.
For Android: Head to the Google Play Store, search for "Authenticator App" and install it.

Log in to your Avg account
Sign in to your AVG Account, and select the Account Settings tile.

Locate 2FA Settings
Under Security, click Turn on 2-step verification.

Set up Multi-Factor Authentication
Enter your AVG Account password and click Continue. It will show the QR Code containing the secret key, which you need to scan with the Authenticator App. Keep this page open as you reach for your device.

QR Code
Open Authenticator App, tap the plus (+) button and hold your device up to the computer screen to scan the QR Code. You can manually enter the 2FA key into your authenticator app.

STEP 06
Two-Factor Authentication Code (2FA)
After successfully scanning the QR Code, Authenticator App will automatically choose the AVG logo and autofill the account name and secret key. Click on Save when ready.

STEP 07
Verify the 2-factor authentication code
Once your AVG account has been successfully added to the Authenticator App, enter the 6-digit code on the AVG website and click Turn On.

2-factor authentication enabled
Now your AVG is protected with an extra layer of security, ensuring no one, even if they know your password, can access it. Press Done, and that’s all.
